FAQs
What size Missy bike should I choose?
Start with the rider-height ranges listed for Missy: 20-inch wheels for 46–59 inches, 24-inch wheels for 51–65 inches, and 26-inch wheels for 59–72 inches. If the rider falls between sizes, check inseam, stand-over clearance, and handlebar reach. The right bike should feel manageable now, not just leave room to grow.
Is the Missy good for neighborhood rides and beach boardwalks?
Yes—Missy is best suited to paved boardwalks, neighborhood streets, and bike paths. It offers a relaxed cruiser feel with six gears for everyday riding. If your usual rides are longer or you prefer a sportier position, Glerc’s hybrid bikes offer other riding styles to consider.
Do the Missy’s six gears help on hills?
Yes. The Shimano six-speed drivetrain lets you shift to an easier gear for gentle hills or a headwind, which gives you more flexibility than a single-speed cruiser. Steep climbs will still depend on the rider and the route.
Can I ride the Missy on beach sand or dirt trails?
Missy is made for firm riding surfaces, not loose beach sand or technical trails. A smooth, hard-packed path may be manageable at a careful pace, but if your family regularly rides rough dirt trails, a mountain bike is a better match.
Can I use the Missy to commute to school or work?
Yes. If your route is mostly paved, Missy’s six gears and front basket make it practical for a short commute with a few small essentials. If you ride farther every day, compare its fit and riding position with other hybrid commuter bikes before choosing.
Does the Missy come with training wheels?
No. The Missy product page says it is not compatible with training wheels, so the rider should already be able to balance on two wheels. If your child is still learning, look for kids bikes with training wheels and confirm they are included with the specific size you choose.
Does every Missy bike include a basket and rear rack?
The front wicker basket is included, but the rear rack depends on the option you select: “With Rear Rack” or “Without Rear Rack.” If you want to carry a bag for school or a neighborhood errand, choose the appropriate option before checkout. Confirm the rack’s weight limit and accessory compatibility before carrying heavier items.
