FAQS
What size boys bike should I buy for my son?
The right boys bike size depends on your son's height and inseam more than his age. Glerc boys bikes cover 12", 14", 16", 18", 20", 24" and 26" wheel sizes, fitting riders from 33" to 74" tall (ages 2 to 15+). Quick guide: 12"–14" for ages 2–5, 16"–18" for ages 4–8, 20" for ages 6–13, and 24"–26" for ages 8+. Use our Kids Bike Size Guide to match by exact height.
Should I buy my son a BMX bike or a mountain bike?
It depends on where he rides. A BMX boys bike (like our Trident, Crossea, Crossea-K, or Glerc Starry) is built for tricks, skateparks, jumps, and street riding—single-speed, strong frame, pegs optional. A mountain bike (like our Mars or Skyline) is built for trails, hills, and uneven terrain—multiple gears, suspension, and disc brakes. If he's into stunts and street riding, choose BMX. If he wants to explore trails or ride long distances, choose MTB.
Are Glerc boys bikes safe and durable?
Yes. Every Glerc boys bike is built around child-safe engineering: high-tensile steel frames with a lifetime frame warranty, dual hand brakes or coaster + hand brake (depending on size), non-slip handlebar grips, and reinforced wheels. Select BMX models add pegged frames for tricks, while some MTB models feature disc brakes or front suspension where age-appropriate, so even active riders stay protected during jumps, trails, and skatepark sessions.
What age is a 20 inch boys bike for?
A 20 inch boys bike fits ages 6 to 13 (rider height roughly 45"–66"). It's the most versatile size and grows with your child for several years. Glerc's 20" boys bike lineup includes the Mars mountain bike for beginners, the Skyline 21-speed MTB with disc brakes, the Nova lightweight belt drive bike and the Crossea/K BMX freestyle bike for kids and teens.
